announced that physician, lecturer and best-selling author, Dr. Larry Dossey
will join Dr. Susan Hickman, host of “The Mind of the Matter” radio program on

Thursday, January 12th at 9 a.m. Eastern.Dr. Larry Dossey will discuss his personal and medical experiences that led to the prayer trilogy and to the writing of his most recent book, “Premonitions.” Dr. Dossey discusses the accumulating scientific evidence in controlled laboratory studies confirming the power of prayer. Prayer influences positive outcomes for human health and in other life forms such as animals and even test-tube bacteria. He also discusses the evidence supporting the reality and validity of human premonitions.
Dr. Dossey is a former physician of internal medicine and
former Chief of Staff of Medical city Dallas Hospital. He received his M.D.
degree from Southwestern Medical School. He lectures at medical schools and
hospitals throughout the United States and abroad. In 1988, he delivered the
annual Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Lecture in New Delhi, India, the only physician
ever invited to do so. He is the author of eleven books dealing with
consciousness spirituality and healing, including the New York Times bestseller
“Healing Words: The Power of Prayer and the Practice of Medicine” and most
recently “The Power of Premonitions.” His books have been translated into 30
languages.
Dr. Dossey is the former co-chairman of the Panel on Mind/Body Interventions, National Center for complementary and Alternative Medicine, National Institutes of Health. He is the executive director of the peer-reviewed journal “Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing.” Dr. Dossey lives in Santa Fe with his wife Barbara, a nurse-consultant and the author of several award-winning books.
